BONAVISTA MUSEUM AND ARCHIVE
The Bonavista Museum, nestled within the Ryan Premises National Historic Site, offers a delightful journey into our local history dating back to the late 19th century. You'll uncover stories of everyday life, entertainment, schooling, church, trade, and various occupations like fishing, sealing, logging, carpentry, cooperage, and cobbling. The museum also boasts a captivating collection of artifacts shedding light on the area's early 20th-century medical history.
With over twenty-five years of enriching the community, the Bonavista Museum once called its home the ground floor of a charming turn-of-the-century dry goods store. To enhance our visitor experience, in 1997, the museum embarked on an exciting new chapter by moving to new quarters within the restored Ryan Store, a part of the Ryan Premises National Historic Site.
